Marks percentage calculator

Add your subjects and marks. Get the total, the percentage, and optionally a best-subjects percentage.

The calculator

Calculate your percentage

Runs in your browser. Nothing is stored or sent. This calculates a plain percentage. It does not convert grades or CGPA, since the rules differ by board and year.

How it works

The simple formula

Percentage = (total marks obtained ÷ total maximum marks) × 100.

Each subject can have a different maximum. Add as many subjects as you need, or remove rows you do not use.

For teachers and schools

From one student to a whole class

A percentage tells you where a student stands. It does not tell you why. Ocoviz combines marks with attendance and practice to show trends, chapter-level gaps and who needs support. See how to catch learning gaps early.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Marks calculator: FAQ

How do I calculate marks percentage?
Add up the marks you obtained, add up the maximum marks, divide the first by the second and multiply by 100. For 425 out of 500, that is 85%.
Can I count only my best five subjects?
Yes. Tick the best-subjects option and set how many to count. Rules for which subjects count differ by board and purpose, so confirm what your board or institution uses.
Does this convert CGPA or grades to percentage?
No. This calculator gives a plain percentage from marks. Conversion rules for grades or CGPA depend on the board and year, so check the official guidance.
Is my data stored?
No. Everything runs in your browser.
Can a school see percentages across a class automatically?
Yes. Ocoviz turns marks into trends, readiness bands and chapter-level gap views. See CBSE report cards and student risk analytics.
