THE MAIN EXAM ROUTES
• UPSC (Civil Services) — IAS, IPS, IFS and more. Highly competitive; needs long, serious preparation.
• SSC — many central-government clerical and officer posts (CGL, CHSL). Popular after 12th/graduation.
• Banking — IBPS / SBI exams for bank clerks and probationary officers (PO).
• Railways (RRB) — one of the largest recruiters; many technical and non-technical posts.
• State PSCs — your own state's civil-service and department exams.
• Defence — NDA (after 12th), CDS (after graduation), and technical entries.
• Teaching — CTET/TET for school teachers.
