How to lead a CT or AI lesson well
Turn any lesson into a CT lesson
Pick a topic you’re already teaching this week. Before the lesson, ask yourself four quick questions: Can students break it into parts? (decomposition) Is there a repeating pattern? Can they write a step-by-step method? (algorithm) What detail can we ignore for now? (abstraction)
Example — long division becomes ‘write the algorithm a younger student could follow’. A history timeline becomes ‘find the pattern in why empires rose and fell’. Five minutes of this per lesson builds the habit without adding a new subject.

- Let students struggle productively before you step in
- Ask “how did you get there?” more than “what’s the answer?”
